The Lake Superior National Estuarine Research Reserve (NERR) is one of 28 areas across the country designated for long-term research on coastal resources and the human populations those resources support. The Reserve is located along a river-to-lake gradient at the confluence of the St. Louis River and Lake Superior. At WI’s youth engagement events in Duluth, Lake Superior NERR shares their research, as well as the cultural heritage and significance of the watershed.
