Day 1: Arrive at William O'Brien State Park
The trip starts mid-afternoon at William O'Brien State Park. Meet your group at the park entrance and gather at a trail head for introductions and before setting up camp. Your Wilderness Inquiry guides will lead you in camp craft skill building such as camp set up, outdoor cooking, and fire building.
Day 2: Visit the banks of the St. Croix River
After a hearty breakfast, you will set off to explore the park. You’ll hike along the banks of the St. Croix River and through secluded ravines and a wooded habitat. After a stop at the visitors center to check out the interpretative displays, you’ll enjoy a picnic lunch before trying your hand at fishing from a dock or swimming in Lake Alice. After a delicious dinner, gather around the campfire for stories and stargazing.
Day 3: Final hike and goodbyes
In the morning, you will break camp and go on a final hike before your last picnic lunch. Say goodbye to your new friends and head home in the early afternoon.
