Gustola Granola featured on all extended WI trips

July 7, 2015 2 Comments

Gustola Granola is a premium, small-batch granola made locally in Minneapolis by Angie Gustafson. Featured on all Wilderness Inquiry extended trips, you will love the just-baked freshness of this artisanal snack.

We caught up with Angie, the woman behind the granola and a longtime friend of Wilderness Inquiry. Angie was inspired by the word gusto, meaning to give pleasure or joy to something, and in her case, the enjoyment of providing a fresh, healthy snack for friends, family, and you.

It all began with Angie’s entrepreneurial spirit and love for baking. A mother of four, she started baking granola to provide her family with a healthy breakfast or snack. Soon after, she began gifting it to friends and family who really liked it and encouraged her to start selling it. And thus her small, yet thriving business began.

What makes Angie’s granola so unique that we had to have it our trips? The healthiness and freshness to start. With every package of granola, you can rest assured you are getting quality ingredients, accompanied by quality taste. With four different kinds to choose from, you will certainly find a variety you love. What really differentiates her granola from the rest is that you will want to eat it anytime, anywhere, and on just about anything.

When asked what her favorite thing to pair it with was, her answer was quite simple: “On its own.” While certainly fantastic right out of the bag or with a splash of milk, Angie also recommends using it as a zesty salad topping, enhancing your plain Greek yogurt, or baking with it.

When she is not baking up a storm, Angie is either attending one of her kids soccer or hockey games or enjoying the great outdoors. She has a love for running and being near or on the water whenever possible. Her active lifestyle and passion for her loved ones has lead her to create such an amazing treat for others to enjoy.

Try one of her granolas to put the gusto back into your granola experience. Once you’ve had it on a Wilderness Inquiry trip, you’ll want to buy some for home. Click here for a full directory of where you can purchase her granola, or simply order it directly through her website. You may also catch her at Linden Hills Farmers Market in Minneapolis.

WOZA! We love this granola … kind of like having an oatmeal cookie for breakfast … or really any time of day. Trust me on this; it’s delicious with yogurt, a glass of cold milk, ice coffee, and a frosty beer (like a rich coffee stout). It’s at the top of the food chain in our house. (And its our standard granola on Taste of the Apostles).
