Join Wilderness Inquiry founder Greg Lais for a morning hike around historic Fort Snelling State Park. Hike, explore, meet new friends, and share the adventure!
Greg's favorite trail in the Twin Cities metro is circumnavigating Pike Island. This 2.2 mile hike is a great intro to the river bottom, and also a very historic place.
For over 40 years, Greg has been leading inclusive outdoor adventures for anyone, anytime, anytime, and he hopes to see you out on the trail soon!
Event is free, but you will need to purchase a MN State Park day pass ($5) or Annual Pass ($30) at the entrance. Please bring a water bottle and good walking shoes. Meet in front of the Thomas Savage Visitor Center.
NOTE: Fort Snelling just recently re-opened after flooding this year. The trails are still impacted, and the Mississippi is rising again. If Pike Island is not ready, we'll switch to walk around Snelling Lake, a beautiful ox-bow lake in the park. Still meet at the Visitor Center.
When:
