A childhood full of paddling and sailing led Josh to teach sailing after college. While working at Seattle’s Center for Wooden Boats, Josh did a lot of repair work. He eventually left for a seven-year career in affordable housing development, but he'd been bitten by the wooden boat bug. He spent a year at the Northwest School for Wooden Boat Building before coming to Wilderness Inquiry to expand the fleet of Voyaguer canoes. Josh loves hiking, playing ultimate frisbee, gardening, maple sugaring, and building with straw and earth plaster.
