For the third year in a row, and for seven years overall, Charity Navigator awarded Wilderness Inquiry its 4-star rating, the highest ranking the organization offers for nonprofits. Fewer than one-fifth of all charities earn this ranking more than two years in a row from America’s largest independent charity evaluator. The 4-star rating certifies that Wilderness Inquiry is accountable, transparent, and financially healthy.

“Wilderness Inquiry’s exceptional 4-star rating sets it apart from its peers and demonstrates its trustworthiness to the public,” said Michael Thatcher, President and CEO of Charity Navigator. “This adds Wilderness Inquiry to a preeminent group of charities working to overcome our world’s most pressing challenges.”

“It’s important our donors trust that we’re using their donations wisely over time to accomplish our mission to connect people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities to each other and the natural world through shared outdoor experience,” said Greg Lais, Executive Director of Wilderness Inquiry. “Our 4-star Charity Navigator rating demonstrates to our supporters that we’re doing things the right way.”

Wilderness Inquiry scored 97.5 out of 100 for financial performance and 100 out of 100 for accountability and transparency. You can view Wilderness Inquiry’s full Charity Navigator profile to see how it scored on all financial, accountability, and transparency metrics.
