Wilderness Inquiry’s Travel Writer Interns are responsible for helping share the story of what makes our trips so special. In this internship, you will spend time on trail capturing the essence of our trips. You will also spend time in the office working with our marketing team to author content for marketing and product collateral including: brochures, emails, newsletters, blog posts, and stories for social media. This mixture gives interns hands-on experience in travel journalism while also gaining experience working alongside our marketing team to help tell compelling stories.
– Previous copywriting/journalism experience
– Working within small teams to create meaningful ideas and pitches
– Interest in traveling and outdoors adventures
– Self-starter with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of co-workers and trip participants
– Strong storytelling skills through written word
This internship is ideal for students and others who wish to build a portfolio of travel writing. College credit may be available depending on the requirements of your college or university.

Please note: Travel Writer interns are expected to assist Outdoor Leaders with trip logistics and participant needs. This may at times supersede your responsibility of taking field notes and writing. Safety and customer service are always number one.
