The ideal candidate would possess an interest in outdoor recreation and be familiar with activities and equipment related to hiking, paddling and overnight camping. Strong candidates will have a positive attitude, be self motivated, and are detail oriented. The Logistics Assistant works closely with our operations team to help organize and clean gear that comes back from Wilderness Inquiry’s adventures. In addition, the Logistics Assistant also supports the operations team in other functions as needed.
TIME/WAGE: Part-time seasonal position; 15-30 hours per week. Approximately mid-April through mid-September. $14/hr starting wage. Must be available Sunday afternoon/evenings, Monday and Tuesday. Additional scheduling may occur as needed.
SUPERVISOR: Operations Manager
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: These duties may vary at the discretion of the supervisor.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, in both an indoor and outdoor setting
- Assist with trips packing in through inventorying, cleaning, organizing and repairing equipment
- Assist with online food order entry, pulling and measuring food from our bulk stores, and cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen and reusable items (may require exposure to nuts and other potential food allergens)
- Assist with virtual program support through educational kit building and shipping.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift and carry equipment and food up to 50 lbs. Ability to drive a car is preferred but not required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
