Join iconic Twin Cities journalist Diana Pierce as you experience the beauty of fall colors on the Mighty Mississippi River with friends new and old. Diana, a lifelong outdoor enthusiast, has visited 25 National Parks in the last 3 years, and is excited to add another one to her list by paddling through the heart of the city with all of you! Whether you are a late bloomer to all things canoeing, or haven't picked up a paddle in 20 years, all are welcome and encouraged to share the adventure.
How it works: You will paddle "The Gorge" of the Mississippi—the only natural canyon on the full length of the river! The route takes 3-4 hours, with about 2 hours of actual paddling time. We provide water and snacks, but you should bring a bag lunch—coolers are provided. There are bathrooms at the beginning and end of each trip. We will shuttle you back to your car after the trip is over. Detailed instructions on your route and where to meet will be sent upon confirmation of your participation.
Make sure to follow along with all of Diana's adventures and catch her interview this September with Wilderness Inquiry's founder Greg Lais on her wonderful web series, "What's Next with Diana Pierce," where she explores topics for the 50+ generation and beyond.
