Located in Colorado, Rocky Mountain National Park is celebrated for its majestic mountain scenery and diverse ecosystems, ranging from wooded forests to high-alpine tundra. Featuring more than 100 peaks above 11,000 feet, including the towering Longs Peak, the park is bisected by the Continental Divide. It is known for its range of available outdoor activities, such as hiking, climbing, and wildlife viewing of elk, moose, and bighorn sheep. With stunning high-altitude vistas, it remains one of the most popular national parks in the country.

About the Area
Rocky Mountain National Park encompasses approximately 415 square miles of spectacular mountain terrain in the Front Range of Colorado. This vast area, situated northwest of Denver between the towns of Estes Park and Grand Lake, provides a sanctuary for a tremendous diversity of plant and animal life across several distinct ecosystems. The size of the park ensures that a significant portion—nearly 95%—is protected as designated Wilderness, preserving its rugged and untamed character for future generations of hikers and explorers.
