Donations provide scholarships for those with financial need, support services for people with disabilities, and programs for urban youth.
Day in and day out, I pour my heart into spreading the good word about Wilderness Inquiry as Outreach Director.
Why? WI helps people who might not otherwise have the opportunity to play, learn, camp, explore, and discover their strengths in the outdoors.
After years of dealing with health problems that slowly eroded my ability to get outside, I was fortunate to land at an alternative medicine center in Boston where the doctor said, “We’ll get you on top of a mountain again.”
That drove my commitment to the therapy program. Years later, I climbed a mountain in Alaska with some college buddies. I don’t think anyone noticed that I was crying at the snowy pass.
I believe in the palliative and transformative power of time in nature.
WI programs have far reaching impacts on individuals and communities. Research by the University of Minnesota has shown participants are more confident, more appreciative of talents and strengths of others, and more likely to pursue challenges in life after participation in WI programs.
Please consider a donation to help provide scholarships for those with financial need, support services for people with disabilities, and programs for urban youth.
If you are a new donor or increase your previous donation, the Frey Foundation will match your gift.
